The Kidde Carbon Monoxide Detector with 10-Year Battery & Digital Display, model C3010D, is a carbon monoxide detector that uses electrochemical sensor technology to detect carbon monoxide. The CO detector is powered by a 10-year lithium battery that never needs replacing, plus protects during a power failure. The Kidde alarm is conveniently designed and portable enough for travel – simply install it on a wall or place it on a tabletop. When carbon monoxide is detected, an 85-decibel alarm will sound & a red LED will flash. A green LED indicates that the alarm is receiving power. It’s a replacement CO detector. Buy it if you need it.
The CO detector is the pinnacle of the “better to have it and not need it” type of item.I had a Kidde alarm in my basement that started alarming end-of-life – manufactured in 2014, so dang near got 12 years out of it.Favorite thing about these is that they don’t change the spacing or anything silly of the wall bracket, so it’s as simple as popping the old bracket off the wall, popping the new one on, and finally, pop the detector onto the bracket to start it up.Hopefully good for another 10-12 years of protection. This is a brand I trust.I use it in my home and have never had an issue with malfunction.When my old battery-powered C02 detectors died out I replaced them with these.I appreciate the 10-year battery life. Makes the hassle of trying to remember what was replaced annually. My husband lost his sense of smell for the most part and I want to make sure that all of the detectors, smoke or otherwise, work.Easy to install, smaller design. Just remember to check the instructions regarding placement and label the date you installed it for easy reference.

I bought this to replace the exact same one i have. The reason being because the one I have was a lifesaver. It went off 1st time ever registered 55 and fire dept narrowed it down to tankless water heater area and a plumber noticed outside vent had a flapper valve in it. Tankless vent prior to having siding replaced was not reinstalled by the siding people but replaced with a different type vent. Not enough airflow out. Carbon monoxide truly is a silent killer and this one worked when it needed to. Fire department recommended replacing it because once they go off it’s a good idea to replace same as you would do with a smoke alarm. I have had original for almost 4 yrs now.

I got this as we have a generator now for power outages due to hurricanes (I live in SE Texas) and everything in the house is electric so I don’t have to worry about C02 regularly but if we have to run the generator and it has to be moved due to storms, we’ll have something to notify us in case any C02 gets in the house (obviously the generator won’t be inside the house running) but if it can’t be on the back porch but has to be moved to a (vented & open) garage, we’ll be safe from CO2 poisoning. I bought this brand as it’s a well known & trusted brand and I wanted something battery operated in case of power outages and not having to worry that the battery isn’t working. It installed on the wall easily and we tested it and the initial alarm isn’t loud but the secondary alarm is loud (we installed this in our long hallway that bedrooms come off of so it will reverberate off the walls and wake us up in the event of CO2 in the house.
