Excellent mental stimulation for bored indoor cats
I have both the rainy day and the ladybug puzzles. Both of my cats (12 years old and 14 months old) each took a week or two to figure out the puzzles, and now I only wish this company made more similar puzzles. Nothing else that I’ve seen on the market is as high quality or as challenging while still being easy for cats to use. These are still a challenge for the cats, and the cats each get treats in one or the other of the puzzles (or the Catstages wobbly toy) daily. My friends who see my cats using these puzzles are always shocked at how “smart” my cats are. I think we often underestimate cats’ intelligence. Difficult puzzle toys like these provide very important mental stimulation for cats.

Affordable, Decent Form Factor, Cat Used on First Day, But Slippy Pegs
The quality and durability seem excellent due to the high-quality materials, though I’ve not done any extensive stress tests. The only notable quality issue is how the circle parts don’t seem to stay up on their own very well, and that knocks it down to four stars. Battery life is not applicable because this doesn’t use a battery. Weight is adequate to stay grounded without feeling too bulky to move when vacuuming. Noise level is not applicable because it contains no major moving or electrical parts. This would probably be fun for dogs too, as stimulation is stimulation at the end of the day, but dogs require more attention and physical activity, so this would be more for separation anxiety than something useful when you’re in the other room. Cats likely will find a more consistent use for this than dogs, but dogs may be at it longer due to their higher intelligence and trainability, thus more potential for engagement and persistence with the higher-level challenges.

Very useful for engaging cat in “search” for food, and slowing food consumption in a food-driven cat
This is an interesting device to slow down my cat’s food intake. He was rescued from a cat colony and is extremely food driven, often gulping it down until he coughs. I have a “fingered” dish for his soft food, and use this for dry kibble and dry treats. This product appears to be designed for kittens as the “leaves” covering food divits are very loose and easily moved. The divits are small and difficult for the cat to get food from, even when using his paws to pull it out. He easily caught on to the workings but I’m pleased that as fast as he can go in finding and fishing out the food, it has improved his rate of consumption and he no longer chokes or coughs while eating. The sliders move easily and quietly, and the shape and size of the device is stable and resists being knocked over. The only issue we have with it is that the kibble can get caught between the base and top layer of the device (Science Diet standard size kibble) but it’s not enough of an issue to deduct any stars from the product.

Great for clever cats
Our cat loves this puzzle! She figured it out pretty fast, but it does keep her busy for a while. The dog also attempted to join the fun, so I guess it’s fun for the whole crew!

Too easy!
My elderly cat is not particularly agile or smart, but he figured this puzzle out in a few minutes. Treats can be hidden under the leaves or red bugs, but all the cat has to do is push the plastic pieces around with nose or paw. The only brain power involved is remembering which ones he has already revealed. He loves this puzzle, but it doesn’t keep him busy for long. It is also quite large and ugly.He has another puzzle from the same company which hides treats in and underneath compartments with lids. That one is smaller, less expensive, more complicated, and keeps him occupied for a long time. The Catstages literature suggested that cats also enjoy their dog toys, so I’m looking at those too.

Definitely recommend
Great quality especially for the price.Has rubber feet to keep from sliding around on smooth floors. One of the rotating green pieces is a little hard to turn, but didn’t stop my cat from getting into itI’ve only used dry treats so far, but I imagine cleaning would be fairly easy by just wiping, maybe rinsing under the sink.I wouldn’t use wet treats because I don’t know how easy it would be to clean the inside of the sliding pegs.Overall, my cat loves it, it’s fun to watch him figure it out, and it feels well built enough to last for quite a while. I definitely recommend this item

My 5 month old Maine coon loves it. It’s good quality: sturdy, to hold him standing all over it (right now he is 4kg) : pieces are easy to move so he can get the reward for his efforts but still makes him work for it. It’s been a good way to introduce him to new places with the distraction of a treat, that lasts a bit longer than giving them to him by hand.

It’s a good quality enrichment toy with multiple permutations for cats to find their snack. It wasn’t overly difficult for my cat, but challenging enough for her to stay engaged and slow down her snack time.
