What is Gooby Escape Free Easy Fit Harness?
It has a patented design that can significantly reduce or even eliminate the risk of a dog escaping, particularly dogs that have a tendency to pull by backing up.
Harnesses in the Escape Free harness collection all come with this patented design.
How to put it on?
1. Loosen harness straps. and Place harness logo-up on ground.
2. Dog steps front legs into openings.
3. Pull harness over back, fasten buckle.
4. Make sure there is no space around the back when harness is fully pulled.
5. Move sliders to adjust.
Is it 100% “escape-proof”?
Harness is designed to reduce the risk of a dog backing out. But a poor fit or lack of active pulling on the harness can result in your dog getting out of the harness. Make sure there is no space around the back when the harness is fully tightened.
Is it suitable for all dogs?
It’s designed to fit a variety of small to medium dog breeds, but it may not be suitable for all dogs (i.e. large breeds like Labradors.)
Please measure your dog’s chest girth to determine which size is best for your dog.
Why is the harness loosening and contracting?
The mechanism tightens with leash tension and loosens without it, ensuring comfort by preventing constant tightness, making your pup uncomfortable.

Make sure our no pull dog harness is properly sized by checking to see if there is no space around the back of your dog when the harness is pulled fully. This is the best harness I’ve found! It fits my Italian Greyhound/Chihuahua beautifully, easy to put on, escape proof, and the easiest one I’ve found to adjust. Highly recommend!

This is a great harness. The material is sturdy, but it’s still very lightweight and comfortable; my dog is able to freely run in it.With the right size, this harness also functions like a martingale collar in that the more you (or the dog) pull on the leash, the tighter it gets around the body. That mechanism helps prevent the dog from slipping out.I’ve attached photos to show how different sizes fit on a small fluffy dog that weighs 18 pounds and has a chest circumference of about 19 inches (18.5 inches if the tape measure is pulled tight).The small size harness did fit, barely, but I would’ve had to pull the harness even tighter in order to bring the two ends of the leash rings together to clip on the leash — that is, for normal wear. (Just FYI, the circumference of the harness is about 21 inches here.) Also, I could tell that the harness sides were too small and uncomfortable on my dog.So the Small size was just too small and too tight and uncomfortable for my dog. I had originally tried this size because I was concerned about excess slack making the leash ring ends flop around, but the small harness left no slack at all.The medium size fits perfectly. You can see in the photo that there’s enough slack to pull the harness tighter when needed, but otherwise, the harness fits comfortably while he is relaxed.The large size also did fit, but you can see in the photo that the harness fits loosely even with the adjustable belts at the smallest lengths. That meant the harness couldn’t be pulled any tighter to prevent the dog from slipping out. Plus the leash ring end belts would easily flop around.So, based on this experience, my dog’s 19 inch chest was at the very end but within the limits of the Small size range; in the middle of the Medium range; and just below the range for Large. The Medium size harness fit the best, and it was also the only one that allows the harness to function like it’s supposed to.Overall, I highly recommend this harness. Just make sure you get the right size for your pup. I just wish it was a bit more affordable and that it had a ring on the front for attaching ID tags.

Best harness ever
We’re long time dog owners and this is the very best harness we’ve owned. Super easy to size AND put on, and is comfy for our mini Australian labradoodle. The cinching function really curbs pulling and when she “puts on her brakes” this harness stays securely in place with no risk of her slipping out of it. Highly recommend.

Almost perfect.
Top marks for the fit & comfort for my 14-pound miniature poodle. I have tried a variety of harnesses to keep her from pulling. She hated all the others! And while it took two or three walks for her to accept this one, the fit and for the most part lightweight material worked perfectly.The Neoprene body does provide strong cushion protection for when my pup pulls and wants to go the other way. No longer pulling at her neck. She has become a better walker with me in less than two weeks.I also find that the “step in” process makes it easier to get her in and out. This was another struggle that I had with other competing solutions.I am totally happy with the product, EXCEPT for the top “POM Plastic Leash Ring”. The hook for my lease to connect is a “lightweight.” I can predict that they will eventually wear out. If the company spent an extra “25 cents” to make the lease ring connector more heavy-duty, this would be a total winner.It is so close to being five-stars.

Safe and comfortable for my dogs
I’ve bought these for every one of my dogs. They never seem to restrict movement, and my dogs have always acted as if they’re very comfortable. What I love about them is that they tighten if ever my dogs try to pull away. If they decide to “hunt” and pull, when they see a squirrel, it tightens up around them, holding them in place. If they pull backwards (I have some really stubborn dogs! :D), it holds them in, as well. I’ve had them for small and medium dogs. They fit easily and are simple to get on, and to tighten and loosen. We attach them to safety straps attached to seat belts in the car, as well. They never seem to get in my dogs’ way, even on long trips. If I have one complaint, it’s that with my most active dog, who runs and rolls around, I’ve had to replace it now twice, as it gets frayed more easily than I’d like. Otherwise, they’re a good value and I recommend them to all my friends.

Perfect Fit and Escape Proof!!!!!
The Gooby Escape Free Easy Fit Harness is exactly what I needed for both of my small dogs who are escape artists and my big dog who scares easily at sudden or loud noises. The design is brilliant—I love the martingale-style cinch – it’s secure but comfortable, and my pups can’t wriggle out of it like other harnesses I’ve tried. The step-in style makes it quick and easy to put on, which is a big plus when you’re dealing with an excited pup!The harness is lightweight but durable, with soft padding that doesn’t irritate the skin. I also appreciate the range of colors, as it’s nice to have something both functional and stylish. Our walks have been so much easier and worry-free with this harness. Highly recommend for small dog owners, especially if you’ve had issues with other harnesses! But we big dog owners can enjoy the security and ease this harness provides. Every walk is now a joy!

Great harness! It is truly super easy to adjust, comfy for the dog, leaves their throat free of pressure by working off the chest if they pull, and escape free. A previous Gooby harness that I had was very difficult to adjust and it was great to get this one – I had it fitted and on my dog in a couple minutes. Definitely recommend!

I have been searching for the perfect harness for my pug since having him. Everything seems to run his chest or restrict his breathing from being too high up on his chest. He has always run away when I’m trying to put his harness on – so I never believed anything was comfortable.This is a lovely and comfortable spongy neoprene type material. It doesn’t rub him at all. The chest piece dips slightly why is perfect for flat faced breeds as it doesn’t restrict their airflow. I notice he doesn’t have loud breathing on walks now.He stands for me to put his legs in it and I like the comfortable fit on top which tightens if he pulls so he can’t escape.I’ve recommended to friends.My pug is 56cm chest which was on the edge of M or L. I went for L and it fits on the smallest setting. So any smaller chest and you’d need a medium.

I have bought and returned multiple harnesses for our dog, but this by far is my favourite and he just loved it too! Game changer on our walk tonight too! No pulling and he was so calm and confident while walking. I like it so much, I’ve come here to buy a second one so I can keep one in the car for his seatbelt and one at the back door for our walks. Highly recommend! The only thing I would change, but I’m not going to knock a star off for it is the fact that it has plastic D rings for where you connect the leash. Metal would’ve been far better, however, we’ll see how long it lasts!
