Hardwired kiddie smoke /co2 alarm
The installation is easy. I had to install 2 of these on 17 ft high wall and ceiling. I have 18 ft little Giant ladder fully extended. I had to work with 2 hands, not holding ladder was bit scary. I had to turn my body 90 degree to wiring the alarm. The product looks smaller than predecessor FireX alarm. I tested it by pushing hush button, it is working ok. The sounds are so loud, all 5 alarms went off same time. Interconnected feature is working fine. It has latest certification. It comes with 10 year built in lithium ion battery backup. I hope everything works well for next 10 years.

Best Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Detector
I installed 5 of these in my home to replace the old battery smoke detectors and they work great. They come with are different connector, so you have to. get an electrician or turn of the fuse if you have the skills to replace the electrical pigtail (wires) yourself. I would have done it myself but my wife wont let me climb a ladder anymore. Fast install and they work great, connected to my current security system and with a 10 year battery, I will no longer have to get up a 2 AM and try to find and replace the stupid battery. I just ordered 5 more to completely replace all of the old smoke detectors and add a new one to the garage where I charge my car at night. Great product. A little expensive, but you are getting carbon monoxide detection where I only had smoke detectors before and worth every penny, knowing I will not have to deal with them for 10 years.

Easy Upgrade from FireX – Reliable and Simple to Install
These detectors work great, and I would highly recommend them! I replaced my old FireX alarms with these, and the swap was simple—I didn’t even need to install a new mounting bracket. (Since FireX was bought out by Kidde, the compatibility made this upgrade even easier.) The wiring was pretty straightforward as well, although I did have to cut back a bit of the wire cover so I could wrap the new wire to my house wire securely with the wire nut.They are a little bigger than my older FireX models, but that doesn’t bother me. I can’t speak to the 10-year battery life yet, as I’ve only had them installed for about a week, but so far everything has been working perfectly.The built-in battery backup and voice alerts give me extra peace of mind, and I really like that they’re interconnectable for whole-home safety. The LED indicators are also a nice touch for clear status checks at a glance.Overall, excellent quality and an easy upgrade from older alarms. If you’re looking for reliable protection with simple installation, these are a great choice.

Easy installation
Our house’s smoke detectors began to fail at almost exactly the 10 year mark. One by one, they would chirp and it would freak out the dog. We decided to replace all 8 detectors with the same Kidde brand, hoping it would be a simple plug and play replacement. The existing plugs were not compatible with the new devices so my husband had to re-wire all of them.

Direct replacement of older Kidde units with adapter cable
I got these to replace my 10 year old outdated Kidde smoke and carbon monoxide detectors that no longer worked. They were a direct replacement in terms of fitting the previous base so I didn’t need to remove and replace the previous ones installed. With the separate purchase and added cost of the adapter cable, they were a simple plug and play. Wish they would have used the same connector or included the adapter cable with these. The 10 year battery is well worth the additional cost as it saves that chirping in the middle of the night when the previous batteries went low. Should pay for itself over 10 years of not having to change the batteries every year or 2.

Loving these smoke detectors. You cant beat a 10 year battery life. 6 months in, they are going great. The only complaint is that the connector did not work when I replaced older Kidde units. Not a big deal, but keep that in mind.

Get the wiring harness adapter
Arrived welll packaged. Did need to replace the old mounting plates, even though it was the same brand, Kidde. Easy to replace though, just loosen two bolts and insert. Make sure you order the conversion kits for the wiring. It’s easy to plug it in and place the detector. Well worth the minor expense to not have to turnoff the power and rewire every smoke detector.
