Better pricing than the big box stores and seemed to be legitimate products. Well packaged with dust covers to ease installation. All functional when tested with loud and clear alerts for fire/smoke and carbon monoxide. Provided batteries are AA and easy to replace. Felt secure when locking into baseplate, no worries about them coming loose when mounted horizontally or vertically.

Seem pretty good BUT…
These seem to work pretty good but after a few weeks they started chirping, we had lithium batteries in them they wouldn’t quit chirping until we put Alkaline batteries in .

These came with batteries as a plus! I didn’t want to skimp on something so important! They are already up. It took less than 5 minutes to put up and hit the button to activate! Also took the opportunity to teach a 2 year old Toddler what to do incase of smoke or a fire. He knows not to hide and to yell out HELP, Help! We did roll play and I believe he will remember this! We will buy these again. Purchased these because it would be too much money, to have to but them all over again, after the ten year throw away types. I really did my research on many brands and types!

Elegant design but the footprint makes for painting problems.
Someone seems to have thought of everything a home owner could get wrong and design this detector so it was as easy as possible to install.How would I improve it? Put a label on it to remind the owner to check the battery every 2 yrs. Also, study other smoke detectors so that your unit can fit directly into the existing footprint and even anchor screws.One of the biggest complaints I have about smoke detectors is that a home owner wants to cover up the previous paint not try to cover up old, perhaps unsightly paint exposed by a new smoke detector.You can buy the same paint but it won’t match a paint that might be >5 yrs. old. So, why make your customers go through the hassle: going to the paint store, buying a $32 pint of paint that is hand-mixed to match someone’s flavor of the month. And, the paint won’t match anyway. I had this happen three times with a home I was selling.My point? match the footprint. Talk to your competitors if you must and agree on one. Windshield wipers have the same problem.In their case, they include kits to match each make — Ford, GM, Honda, Kia, BMW, etc. The customer pops in the adaptor kit and the wiper fits into the slot on the wiper arm. Bingo!
