Affordable wifi smoke detector
A battery powered wifi smoke dectector – I had been wanting to get something like this to more directly monitor my 3d printers, just in case an issue arrises it might detect smoke a little bit earlier having it be closer. The wifi feature is nice to be able to send an alert when you are not home. However I have to say I’m not really looking forward to another app so for now I am just using it without wifi. For wifi home devices nowadays I mostly look to see if it is Matter enabled to avoid dozens of apps. Overall as a smoke detector it seems to work well so far. AAA batteries are a strange choice compared to the other smoke detectors I’ve used, but I haven’t tested this long enough to know how the battery life will be. I appreciated the double sided tape for an easy install without screws.

Decent smoke detector, needs better instructions for smart setup
As a Vine member, I was intrigued by the idea of a smart smoke detector that could alert me while I’m away from home. I decided to give this one from Evjeal a try, and I was surprised by its compact size—no larger than the palm of my hand.Installation is straightforward. It comes with everything needed for mounting, including double-sided tape if you prefer not to drill. Battery access is well-designed: the removable cover lets you swap batteries without taking the detector down from the ceiling. For the price, the added smart functionality is a solid value.However, the setup process is where things get frustrating. The included manual is tiny and hard to read—I really wish they’d offer a downloadable PDF instead of forcing you to squint or use a magnifier.Connecting the detector to WiFi via the SmartLife app was a challenge. Creating an account is standard, but getting the device online was anything but. The app detected the unit when I installed the batteries, but it repeatedly failed to connect to WiFi. I followed the manual’s instructions to add the device manually, but that didn’t work either. After several failed attempts and resets, I finally found a section buried on page 16 titled “AP Mode Setup (If EZ Mode Fails).” Using those steps, I was able to complete the setup—though that section really should be front and center.Once connected, the app sent a notification when I tested the detector using the test button. It’s a basic app, but it shows battery percentage and keeps a daily log of activity.Overall, this detector has potential, but the poor documentation and setup hurdles nearly made me give up. If the instructions were clearer and better organized, I’d be giving this five stars. As it stands, it’s a decent product with a frustrating onboarding experience.

SMART SMOKE DECTECTOR WITH WI-FI AND APP CONTROL , EASY CHANGE BATTERIES
The best part I like about this Smoke Detector is the “easy battery change out”. They are accessible from the top side that faces out, (opposite the mounting side). Easy mount to wall or ceiling with included hardware. To remove the mounting plate, turn Clockwise, It does fit snug. (I put inking marks on the body and mounting plate to indicate where they go back together). It still has the typical functionality of a blinking light and button for canceling the alarm when testing. One thing I would have liked is that the batteries to be of the Double AA type instead of the Triple AAA type for longer battery service between changes. We will see how long they last and have to be changed out. Really liked that it does not use the old fashioned 9volt battery. The wi-fi set up looks to be easy with 2 options, EZ and manual. I opted out because of privacy concerns. It feels like it is made well. The instructions are clear and concise. Another note is that the instructions did not mention mounting it, other then ok for ceiling or wall. AND if there is any concern about what chemistry of battery to use. I am going to use Lithium, 1. 5 volt AAA for the fact that they seldom leak. You might want to use ear protection when testing for the loudness and high noise level of this device.

This is a well made and nice looking smoke detector and does not require anything other than 2 AAA batteries that come with it. Included in the package are two double sided sticky pads to apply it to the area you want. The alarm is loud enough to get your attention. Less loud than my regular detectors.You will have to install an app to even began the installation of the device. I was not happy that I had to download an app to control it when I have already got all my other devices set up on another app….oh, and did I mention that you have to pay if you want all the features to work. This app is not free. That is about all I can say about it after trying repeatedly to get it setup and be operational.I’m usually very capable of adding a device but, this is the exception. If you have time on your hands and want to waste it then this might be a value to you, and I recommend you buy this one. As for recommending based on my own experience, I do not.

I got this smoke detector for my garage. I know it’s a no-no to install one in the garage but I have an EV so if there is smoke in my garage I need to know about it ASAP. The install was very straightforward, just 3 screws (included), pop the batteries in (included). The batteries are AAA and the battery compartment is on the front, so you don’t necessarily need to remove it to change the batteries.This detector is much smaller than standard ones so you will need to install the bracket and it may not fit in the same spot if you had a hardwired detector before. I guess it’s because it’s designed to be installed where no other detectors were installer prior.The sound is quieter than the bigger smoke detectors, but still perfectly audible from a great distance. It lacks the piercing note that freaks my dogs out which is nice. One thing to note, if you press the test button you will have to press and RELEASE it again to stop. I learned it the hard way holding the button of the screeching detector, waiting for it to stop. Press, hold a few seconds, release, and it shuts up.Overall it’s a great little unit, definitely worth the price, I may look into the smart option soon

I have to admit, I love that this smoke detector is smaller than the normal sized ones. It’s really tiny and I was kind of shocked when it came because I didn’t realize it would be. But yes, it’s much smaller, as you can see from my photos.It’s just a basic smoke detector. No bells and whistles, no features. You put batteries in, it (hopefully) goes off when there’s smoke. It does have a test / silent button and it does come with batteries, so those things are good.We’re putting it at our basement stairs so the only real test it will get is in an actual fire and let’s pray we never get to test that.I’m giving this thing 4 stars because I like that it’s small. I would probably invest in the 4 pack though if I was going to go this route because it’s a much better deal financially. Or put the extra money in and get a smart alarm.

I installed this smoke detector in my basement hallway. The design is compact, so it doesn’t look bulky and installation only took a few minutes. It runs on AAA batteries, which makes it convenient since there’s no hardwiring involved.I also like that the battery compartment is accessible from the top—no need to remove the whole unit when it’s time to change batteries. The test/silence button works as expected, and the alarm is loud enough to be heard clearly in the space.Overall, it’s a straightforward, no-frills smoke detector that does what it’s supposed to. Great for basic home safety, especially in hallways or smaller areas.

This item is absolutely useless. There is no way to hook it up to your Wi-Fi. I’ve had several people coming and try it. I’ve been doing Wifi and Bluetooth things forever. This product is absolutely useless and provides a very faults sense of security. Do not waste your money on this product.

I actually don’t know what review to give this product. Connecting it wasn’t much fun but once I got the first one done the other 4 went ok. The test buttons show all are working but I smoke and sat one of the units right beside me… nothing happened. Has anyone tested them with a can of smoke? Probably the only way to see if they work.
