Good
I bought this detector for our home to feel more secure. It is easy to install and use, and the LCD display clearly shows the CO level. The alarm is loud enough to hear from another room, and it responds quickly to changes in CO. Compared to our old detector, this one feels much more sensitive and reliable. I feel safer knowing it’s in our bedroom and kitchen.

Low cost peace of mind
I have 2 of these carbon monoxide detectors that I bought mainly to keep my house up to local building code. The house is all electric, and the risk of a carbon monoxide event here is low unless I do something incredibly stupid like leave a car running inside the attached garage. The detector is easy to mount on a wall and has good battery life. I like the little green LED that flashes every 30 seconds to indicate it is operating normally. The detector is small and unobtrusive. The 85 dB alarm is loud enough to be heard throughout the house, but not so loud that I need to wear ear protection while testing it. It is a good value at the current $9.99 price.

Cheaply Made But Hopefully Unit Works!
Of course, it is a cheaply made carbon monoxide detector, but hopefully it will detect carbon monoxide if it becomes present. Easy to install, however, be careful with the unit when installing batteries because one of the battery wires fell out of the base of the detector. It was a tiny piece that the battery must attach to so unit will work. I finally located the missing part and inserted back into the unit and installed battery. Upon testing, the unit seems to be working. But can’t really complain too much because the unit was cheap in price.

Makes a LOT of racket if there’s a problem AND if the battery is low, so safe!!
3 year review: still works, gave a false positive 97PPM, when the battery went low (!!!???!!!) . . well THAT got my attention, beep beep beep . . . cleared the fault, changed the batteries, presto chango the darn thing shut up n works fine . . better to get my attention, than to risk dying of carbon monoxide poisoning . . so I give it a thumbs up . . . . I mighta preferred it just showe the “LB” error message, like it has done before . . while I am at it, the 3 AA batteries last anywhere from 10 months to a year and a half to bring on the “LB” (Low Battery) error message . .

False sense of security!!
Does not work!! I purchased this because I have a propane heater in a small shop, and want to make sure I don’t poison myself this winter. The item chirps when you press the test button so that’s cool. After a week of running my heater, I’d think that the levels would be higher than 0 PPM. SO I DID AN EXPERIMENT. I cranked my CRF450 and let it idle in the shop for 5 minutes. (16 X 12 shop by the way). Still 0 PPM. So I cranked my Yamaha TTR 230 and the CRF 450 and let them idle for 15 minutes! Door and windows shut. Quickly ran in while holding my breath, turned off the bikes and grabbed the detector. 0 PPM!!! Waste of money and if I trusted this item with my life, I’d be pushing up daises.

Highly recommend these, work great.Does have a strong, flashing light you see at night to show its working but it’s so fast it don’t keep you awake.
