Pheromone spray that reduces agitation and anxiety in cats. Easy to use.
I have three cats. One was a stray and two were feral. They are all newly adopted and still transitioning to being indoor pets. I fed them all summer long outside on my porch before deciding to adopt them, so they are familiar with me, but the indoor environment has caused them a bit of stress. The ferals scare easily and naturally seek hiding places, which lets me know when they are feeling agitated. I found that spraying this calming pheromone in those hiding spots settles them down more quickly. They come out ready to play, which indicates a state of ease. They have come a long way in a few weeks and this spray has contributed greatly to their adjustment. I’m happy that the contents are all natural and work so well to ease their anxiety and calm them down. I’ve purchased a cat tree for them and my next step is to try to get the feral cats to sleep in the open, like the stray, rather than in hiding. I plan to spray this on the cat tree, since they already associate it with safety and calmness. We’ll see if it works!I took a few pictures to show you what I received: 1- as it arrived; 2- directions on the box; 3- bottle w ruler.The price of this pheromone spray seemed high to me at first, but as a transition aid for my new cats, it is priceless. I recommend it without hesitation. Mostly just fragrance spray, unsure if actually contains pheromones
I highly doubt there are actually any pheromones in here. If so, they are being completely masked by an overwhelming fragrance smell. The smell isn’t necessarily bad but it’s very strong and very floral. The ingredients: Purified Water, Feline Facial Pheromone Analog, Bitter Orange Flower Extract and Chamomile Extract. I will not pretend to be an expert and could be completely wrong, but I smell neither bitter orange or chamomile extract. Also, I do understand how pheromones work and not every cat will have a reaction to them. What works for some people might not work for others. I’ve even bought the more well-known veterinarian recommended brand of kitty pheromones in the past so I do have something to compare it to. It is rather expensive though so I thought I would try this instead at this time. I sprayed this in a couple of areas where my cats tend to lay, hoping to ease some of the tension between my two neutered males. For some reason they’ve been fighting lately and I thought I would try this and just see. There has been no improvement. I know they can smell it though because I watched them sniff where I’ve sprayed and continue fighting ha ha.So in my opinion, this would be better used as just a fragrance for like a bedding refresher or something in between washes. It’s hard with these type of items to rate them because like I said true pheromones themselves are also not even 100% all the time. However, I think they need to re-label this and just call it a fragrance. I would be happy if it even smelled like lavender which I love.

Calmed my troublemaker
I have three cats and taking care of my son’s min pin. My largest cat has issues with the dog and they act like children bickering back and forth all day long. My cat stalks the dog and instigates fights which the dog is all too happy to oblige. I got this spray to calm them both down and keep the peace. The box is plastic wrapped so you know it is new. The bottle itself has no safety seal which should be fine given the outer wrap. However, the bottle says not to use if safety seal is broken or missing. Yet, I found no safety seal around the spray portion. I am not sure what exactly this warning is referring to. I’m not necessarily bothered by a nonexistent second seal but the fact the packaging mentions it without one existing reduces the product’s trustworthiness. Aside from that, the bottle was full and I sprayed a couple of pumps as directed onto a towel. I let it dry and then placed it near my cat. I smelled the spray expecting an herbal scent since the ingredients only list chamomile, bitter orange and the pheromones which would add scent. This stuff smells like fragrance instead of natural. I don’t know the exact description I would give it—like perfume or maybe even baby powdery. I can’t imagine what is causing this smell and I find it odd because fragrance is not listed in the ingredients and the box says “all natural ingredients”. I’m not sure I am comfortable using this if it contains undisclosed ingredients and I have not used other pheromone sprays for comparison. It did seem to work on my cat, though. He laid down and when the dog walked near the couch, he didn’t hiss or reach out to strike. I consider that a success. I have not tried this in the kennel for transport as he does well for the short 10 minute trek to the vet office. He does fight while at the vet when they draw blood but I doubt this will induce a deep calming in that scenario as I feel that situation would be more intense than this could handle so my expectations are low in that regard. I imagine he will still need his gabapentin doses prior to procedures but for home, it works great and therefore still offers value. The 2oz bottle is like a travel size but for my usage it should give me plenty of applications. I have also noticed, at least the fragrance scent, lasted well over a day on the towel so if I do not need to constantly reapply, it will last even longer. It may not be large enough if you spray it multiple places (kennels, carpets, chairs, etc) over a long term.My rating: Solid 4 : Like It — Good performance; a few issues:–Product smells like fragrance not listed on ingredient list. This is the biggest concern and if this gets resolved, I would give 5 stars.–Packaging seems to indicate there should be a second safety seal (on the bottle) but none exist.Overall, I like it and it appears to work on my cat’s attitude. However, I am hesitant to continue using due to what seems a discrepancy between the ingredients and what I smell. If this is due to the carrier product of the synthetic pheromones, then I would like it noted. If this is sorted out, for me, it would be a 5 as it does work as described on my particular cat.
