Infested with Spider Mites
Upon receiving, the palms were beautiful and I didn’t see any evidence of bugs, so I was pleased. After some quarantining, I brought them inside and placed them about my house. Now, I’m an avid plant mom, but I’ve never had larger palms like this before, so I knew there was a distinct possibility I’d have to spend some time finding just the right spots in my house. I moved a couple around, but settled within a handful of days. I clipped a broken frond off of one of the palms, and otherwise, it seemed healthy and happy. It stayed this way for a couple of weeks, and then suddenly, took a turn for the worst. Long story short, I finally figured it out when I found the spider mites. All over the place, so I’m guessing they’d hatched a few times. Unfortunately, I did not catch them before the spider mites infested quite a few of my other plants. I’ve now thrown out two out of three palms, and five additional plants. There are a handful more that I think I can rehab, but it’ll take me some time and a strict quarantine.I’m so disappointed in these palms. Costas Farms is such a reputable plant farm, and yet, they’re sending out massively infested plants, because clearly, I am not the only one with this problem. What a disappointment. I won’t even get my money back for these. I sure as hell won’t be buying from here again.

Beautiful palm
This is a beautiful palm. It came quickly and was well boxed and had absolutely no damage whatsoever. I waited about a month before repotting and it is thriving. The plants are fairly root bound so just know you will need to repot it sooner than later. I did have to treat it for spider mites, but I’m not sure they were on the plant when it arrived as the mites were not evident immediately. Just a few treatments of soapy water and the mites are gone.

The plant was healthy, arrived on time and looks like it should grow beautifully, however, it was not in a decorative pot, but rather was in an ugly black plastic growers pot. The description should be changed, and the price lowered if the plant is supposed to be in a grower pot rather than a decorative pot. I contacted the seller and received some bs email that said that Amazon required them to send it in the grower pot and that they had no solution for the issue.Edited review to say customer service was helpful and the situation was resolved. The plant is doing well.

Picture of what they’re advertising vs what actually got delivered. Not any major concerns, plant seemed healthy day of delivery, pot was damaged from shipping but im going to repot it anyway so its not worth disputing.Leaves have some white residue on them, not sure what it is. I’ll leave it outside for a few days so it can wash off in the rain. I’ve ordered dozens of plants from Costa through amazon, less than 15% of them had issues.Honest no BS human reviewer
