I like these clippers. There’s a bit of a learning curve. I wasn’t sure how best to orient the clippers to my nail, but after a few attempts, I love the results. As stated, they don’t leave you wanting to file your nails after trimming. And you can do MUCH more exact trimming. You can trim the tiniest sliver without your nail cracking or splitting. I had a little trouble at first seeing what I was doing as these are a different shape and size than regular clippers, but again, once I started using them, it became as easy as my old clippers, but with much greater precision. I highly recommend these. A HUGE improvement over traditional clippers!

The Best Nail Cutters In the World (I ain’t lyin’ to ya!)
This is the third EDJY fingernail cutter I’ve purchased. I’ve a Blue one for me, a Lilac one for my wife, and just now I received a Navy one for my mother, who is in an assisted living facility. And in my visit to my mother, only just two days ago, was I reminded as to why EDJY cutters are far superior to any nail clippers.Firstly, the EDJY nail cutter is ergonomically designed, and is considerably beefier than a standard, stainless steel nail clipper. It doesn’t have that oddball tapered back end that standard clippers have either (I’ve never understood that really), and the lever, as well as the body, and “anvil” are all made of a tough plastic polymer, so it feels comfy in your hand.I don’t grasp exactly how it is that a surgical steel blade coming down onto a polymer “anvil” cuts as cleanly as it does, but to put it simply — It does! It’s the cleanest dang cut I’ve ever experienced. And I say this as a fellow who’s had experience in cutting not only my own nails, but also those of my mother in-law (fingers and toes), and once for my father in-law shortly before he died and simply couldn’t do it on his own anymore (fingers and toes), and I do it for my wife (particularly her toes). Every nail was clipped and filed, and filed, and filed. I was simply following the Golden Rule and doing their nails the way I’d hope someone would kindly take care of mine if and when I ever become unable to do so myself.Someone might balk and say “Sixteen dollars is too much for a nail cutter”, to which I’d say, Ah! but time is money too. Let’s face it — having to file your fingernails (or toenails) after clipping them is a colossal waste of time, and if you’re like me, it takes more than one simple session to get rid of all those tiny little snags and rough edges left behind that can catch onto a bit of soft clothing. It makes my skin crawl to have a ragged fingernail that catches on clothing even in the slightest. But the EDJY cuts with what is about as close to “LASER precision” as you can hope for in a hand tool.Following that, I don’t know if it’s supposed to be “necessary” to file your nails after cutting them, but all I know is that when using the EDJY cutter, the cut is clean and I’ve not been using a file to finish up afterward. Partly I believe is because the EDJY has a wider opening than a standard fingernail clipper, and the other is because of the thoughtful design.The other great thing about EDJY is that it’s got a nail catcher. No more searching around on the floor (or carpet or furniture, etc.) for bits and pieces that go flying. Only every now and then does a little bit somehow escape the chamber. As for me, every few cuts I just dump the cuttings onto a flat surface and collect them all at the end. And that’s key as well, it’s so easy to dump the cut bits — no fiddling around with a slide-open door — nope, just point it downward and open and close the cutter, and out they fall, nicey-nice-nice.From what I understand, the EDJY company is working on a toenail cutter, which of course would be a bit larger, but even with my rather thick, tough nails, I’ve been having no problem with using the fingernail cutter to take care of business.So as I mentioned earlier, I was visiting my mother and saw that her nails were way longer than a little old lady ought to have to deal with. She only had a standard nail clipper available, and true to previous experience, they had tiny ragged edges that needed filing, and sadly, her file was missing. So as soon as I got home I ordered an EDJY for Mom, and I’ll be bringing that on my next visit just before Christmas, and fixing those ragged edges. I’ll be keeping her EDJY so that it doesn’t get misplaced.These EDJY nail cutters are, in all honesty some of the best purchases I’ve ever made. You get what you pay for. I can’t more highly recommend.

REVOLUTIONARY!!
This is by far the best nail clippers I’ve ever used the cuts are always smooth and perfect. It leaves your nails feeling smooth and clean there’s no breakage like other nail clippers so there’s no need to file them down, my fingers have never looked better! I hope they make one for toe nails soon. Highly recommend for anyone that takes pride in having clean manicured fingernails

easy to cut too short— overhyped, overpriced
I’m not sure if this is user error or what but I’ve used this a few times now and every single time I cut WAY too short. I don’t like long nails but I don’t like them so short that there’s no nail at all. but that keeps happening anyway despite my best efforts. not really sure what to do about it, I always think I have it lined up exactly where I want it and then as soon as I make the cut and pull the clippers away to see, I’ve taken off way more than I thought it looked like it would, and then there’s nothing left.and something else; so fingernails kind of have a natural bend to them, sort of crescent shaped. these clippers are just totally flat, so when you situate the nail where it’s supposed to be to cut it, and then you clip down on it, it flattens out the nail and thus puts stress on it, also resulting in a very blunt, straight across cut that requires you to have to go back and round it out some more, which I find harder to do small touch ups with these clippers as they’re a bit bulky and awkward, which also contributes to the aforementioned over-trimming issue.the whole selling point with these clippers is that you can get a smooth clean cut without needing to file. I feel like I need to file anyway because of all the little touch ups I need to do just to round out the edge of my nail, there are so many little corners to grind down.I am going to keep trying them though. part of why I decided to invest in these $17 nail clippers (wow now that I’m saying that out loud I can’t believe I did that) was because my other cheap clippers were getting dull, as they often do, and I saw that this blade never goes dull? we will have to see about that. but I’m hoping to get better so that I don’t ever have to buy another pair of nail clippers again and I can just keep using this one. I would assume with practice you would eventually learn exactly where to hold the clippers so you don’t take too much off. we shall see…
