One Of the Great Product at Affordable Cost.
Very easy to install and only took a few minutes to do. The flashing light is adequate enough to alert you of any danger when you are sleeping or just can’t hear. A lifesaver for the deaf and hard of hearing community.

LOUD and BRIGHT
I’m deaf without my hearing aid and cochlear implant processor. I have a service dog since sleeping through a fire alarm at a hotel. He’s good, but practicing fire alarms is difficult. I installed these in the bedrooms in my home and the tv room. The flash would definitely wake me even in the daytime.

Fantastic for hearing impaired
Wife got cochlear implants so basically deaf at night, this detector is a great answer to alerting her. The flashing light is almost blinding, works fantastically

Please refund my wasted money.
This is the last time I will ever order the First Alert BRK 7020BSL Hardwired Hearing Impaired Smoke Detector with LED strobe light. I needed it because I am seriously hearing impaired (2 Cochlear Implants) and this was a way to insure my safety in case of a fire.. However, despite the 10 year warranty, after one year, the device kept ringing non-stop. It was impossible to turn off as there was no button or part to end the incessant ringing every minute. The device could not be shut off, even when disconnected from the electricity. A terrible machine, I had to toss it away, since it couldn’t be quieted. Amazon, please refund my purchase price from August 20, 2024 of $103.99. Thank you

Literature missing info on important but easy to miss switch.
Should have looked at the reviews at the on set of trouble shooting my installation problems. It would not work as described & diligent study of the inclosed literature said NOTHING of the conditions I was seeing. I called the customer service number in literature. Was only on hold 10 minutes or so when a lady answered. She was able to look up my condition & told me to operate a switch on the back of the detector. WHAT SWITCH? There is no mention of a switch in the literature except the Disable Switch. Sure enough there is a small paddle the same color as the rest of the housing. Another reviewer called it a “shipping switch”. Pushing the paddle and “wall-a” my detector was now functioning properly. Installation was not a problem. My near deaf mother-n-law can hear the audio alarm as well as see the light which seems pretty bright. Cannot speak to the premature “end of life” alarms but thinking this “shipping switch” may be a recent addition and an effort to eliminating these “e o l” alarms and get more life out of the detector. Time will tell.

A must for anyone using hearing aids
This unit plugged right in to the existing, hard wired, smoke detector. Just unplugged the old one, plugged this one in, and snapped it into the existing holder. Flashing light is bright enough to wake a person that cannot hear the alarm. This one, or one with the same flashing light feature is a must for anyone using hearing aids.
