Great filter for my system.
works great with my water softener — I have a lot of iron in my water and this filter really helps with controlling that. I find with the amount of iron that I have to change it every 3 months.

Perfect fit, easy replacement
We installed our filter exactly one year ago and promptly forgot about it. That is until a couple weeks ago when the water pressure began dropping. Actually, it wasn’t the water pressure, it was the rate of flow. If we flushed the toilet while the sink tap was on, the flow dropped dramatically. Long story short, while talking to a plumber he asked when I last changed the filter. Duh! I checked the old filter and it was coated with sand and stuff. This was a direct replacement and now the flow is back where it should be.

it does what it says… to a point.
I have changed this filter twice. I am on city water and was surprised how much mud was removed and the improved taste. However after the first 6 months I found the cartridge had broken apart severely and was not functioning right. The second one was 5 months and although not broken as severely as the first, still broken. I will now change it every 4 months and expect no degeneration of the filter media. I use a lot of water as I grow a big garden.If your on a well system this might not be sized large enough for your sediment problems and you may need a larger unit. I like the system and the ease of changing the filter and intend to keep it if the breaking apart stops at four months intervals, otherwise it may not be cost effective. By and large a well made and good product.

WOW. I did not realize how bad the water was until I used this. Smells terrifying when changing. There were no leaks. Longevity was 6 months before change. Very functional and will continue to buy until discontinued. Beware of your water quality. Use this for crystal clear water.

Works Well
Very good filter! No more iron taste or sulfur smell from my well water. I pair it with a water softener and the iron out salt tablets. The water no longer stains the porcelain either.
