Works great easy to install
Replaced an expensive and failed earlier than it should have Nest Protect. Has the same online function and no issues so far. Easy to install and good price. Safe tests available

Great product to protect your home & pets!
I don’t write many reviews, but this networked smoke detector is great! I’ve finally found a detector that connects to all of the existing wired smoke detectors in my home, effectively giving me instant notifications/alerts on my phone when any of those detectors goes off. And it’s easy to add additional family members or friends, so they can also get alerts. Great peace of mind (and even better for my dogs when I’m not home)! The app supports remote test (alerting of all connected detectors), remote hush, and can even disable the low battery beeps in the middle of the night. (No more climbing ladders when half asleep to change batteries!)I’ve tried SmartThings z-wave detectors in the past – while they’re OK, they don’t interface with my existing detectors, and I’ve had battery issues with them (chirping when they get down to 85% battery, in the middle of the night of course). So these Kidde detectors are far superior. They connected seamlessly to my 2.4GHz WiFi. No issues at all. The detector mounting on the bracket is a little particular, but explained in the instructions. A superb product, at a great price.

Nice features, simple to set up
I had originally given this Kidde smoke/co2 detector (see prior review below) five stars. While everything that I said is true, it is also true — as noted by other reviewers — these detectors randomly make a single-chirp. I can go for weeks with no chirping and then, seemingly for no reason, a random detector will sound a one time chirp. I never had this problem with of my prior Kidde smoke detectors. It’s quite annoying, particularly when one of them wakes me up.I have no idea what to do with these things. One day the detector downstairs chirps, another day the one in my bedroom chirps. There is no consistency. Tonight, three of them chirped at the same time (I have ten). That’s a first. When one of these units is not waking me up with a unwarranted single chirp, they often take the opportunity to let me know, in a very loud voice, whenever a Wi-Fi connection is lost or whenever one is regained. This is a design flaw. The alert should merely appear in the app and solely in the app. Unless your WiFi has perfect connectivity, you will likely find this feature quite annoying. As much as I like the functionality noted below, I wish I never purchased these Kidde detectors.Prior Review:Has some neat features. Like 1) Kidde app will tell you which room is the source of an alarm 2) You can test alarms from the Kidde app without pressing the test button on each unit 3) You can tell it to never sound a battery low chirp during sleep hours (10pm to 6am), and 4) The voice alarm is a very cool feature. It’s a new model so I forgive that one in ten units was unable to connect to WiFi. Amazon replaced the unit without any hassle. It’s very easy to install, if you are replacing another hardwired unit, and setting up the WiFi connection is simple.

It works and it has TUV cert for UL compliance
Great so far! Connected instantly. Was a little disappointed that it isnt smart enough to detect which room an alert comes from. Could if they wanted to really easily.

Wi-Fi enabled alerts from smoke alarm
We travel a fair amount and I have always worried about if a smoke alarm goes off I would have to rely on my neighbors or somebody walking by to hear it. This smoke alarm has an app that links to your Wi-Fi and gives you a notification if the alert goes off. Since all of my smoke alarms are tied together if any one of them goes off it sets off this one that sends me a notification. I tested it and it works great. More peace of mind!

Tired of your kitchen smoke detector going off when you’re cooking..
It appears to be working well. It would be great if this smoke detector fit the other Kidde smoke detector mounting rings, or if the screw holes in the mounting rings matched each other. Just a little extra work to have to mount it.

Awful unless you like being terrified in the middle of the night. DO NOT BUY.
This is without a doubt one of the worst products I have ever owned. I bought 2 of these to replace some fairly new Kidde detectors with 10 yr batteries that were constantly terrifying our family in the middle of the night. These do the same thing. New and tested batteries. But it’s not *just* the false alarms. First, the unit chirps *very* loudly if it loses wifi connectivity. You cannot disable this “feature”. Terrifies my dog every time the ISP has issues, which is too often.Worse, you cannot “hush” the alarm if it detects excessive smoke. This just happened the other night. There was NO smoke, no nothing. I checked several times throughout the night as who can sleep after that? But no, I was not allowed to hush it. So I unplugged it, removed the batteries and it’s been sitting in the garage every since. This product deserves 0 stars. These products in general deserve a class action lawsuit. This company should not be in business.
