Comprehensively tested and designed to the latest UL standard for safety and reliability, the 5-inch combination smoke & CO alarm is powered by 2 replaceable AA alkaline batteries (included) for continual detection even during outages. Batteries should be replaced every 6 months or when the alarm sounds a low battery chirp. In addition, it’s self-testing and easy to install with the included twist-and-click mounting bracket. This Kidde combination alarm is equipped with end-of-life notifications that will beep to remind you it’s time to replace it at the of its 10-year lifespan. Meets requirements of 9th Edition UL 217, UL 2034 4th Edition, and FCC. Does not meet requirements for CSFM.

BATTERY REPLACEMENT: Batteries should be replaced every 6 months, a low battery chirp alerts you when batteries need replacing.
10-YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY: Warranty begins when the alarm is powered on. If that date is unknown, it should be assumed that alarms should be replaced.

Replaced My Old One Seamlessly
I bought this to replace my older Kidde unit that was about five years old and started chirping (the dreaded double beep that tells you it’s officially done). I was fully prepared to re-mount the new one but to my surprise, it fit perfectly on the existing wall bracket, which saved me time and frustration.Installation was fast, and I’ve had it up for over eight months now. It runs on AA batteries, and I’m still using the same set with no issues. No false alarms, no problems. The LED indicators are easy to read, and the unit stays quiet unless it’s doing its job.It’s reliable, simple to use, and doesn’t overcomplicate something that’s meant to keep you safe. Was replacing these with the older version of this brand, in a new house I just purchased as they were not working anymore, however, I am slightly surprised that the green light doesn’t stay lit, whereas the older version does. Not sure if that’s how it is now, I would’ve preferred the green light remain lit up as the older ones did.The batteries it came with work fine, not sure how long the batteries it came with will work since I just installed it, but I did buy a large pack of batteries either way, just in case. This product is a great value and an attractive looking detector. I originally bought the same brand to Just easily install on the old mounting, the older version was already installed on my wall, however, that one was so old it was yellow, but they are easy to install & very happy with my purchase

Moved from these from First Alert ones…So far so good. No random false alarms. (First Alert ones would trip for no reason – and always in the middle at night scaring EVERYONE – including the dog!)

Easy to replace old smoke detectors with additional converter connectors purchased separately. With these I could do it myself. I wish they would include them with the smoke detectors.
