Great compact gadget
Great product, nothing fancy, gets the job done. Small and compact, easy storage. Has 2 settings, chop and puree. I’ve only used puree but it works great.

Small and powerful
This is such a great food processor that won’t take up space under the cabinets. Big enough to hold a good amount of stuff but small enough not to take up space!! Does a great job!!

great little product!
I bought this to use in my RV as its small size is easy to stow. Chops quickly and evenly so does the job. I appreciate that it’s 5 cups instead of three cups, so I can chop more. They accomplish this with a taller bin. I worried that the tall size would affect chopping efficiency, but it’s not an issue. It works so well, I use it at home. Why use this over my full size food processor? With my big unit, all the bowls, lids, and blades fill up my dishwasher, while the parts from this only take up a small space in the dishwasher drawer. Some notes about how this works: You twist on the bowl, drop in the spindle, slip the blade over the spindle, then twist on the lid. A lever on the side is marked “chop” and “pulse” but it’s actually low speed/high speed. To activate, you press a tab on top of the handle; hold to spin, tap to pulse. You get two processing attachments which fit over the spindle: a metal cutting blade and a plastic disk (used for emulsifying stuff like salad dressings. It works well.) There’s a slot at the base where you can wrap the cord in a tidy way. Overall, a great product.

Great for Quick Chops
I love the compact size of this 5-cup food processor—perfect for small kitchens. The thumb-activated lid makes it super easy to use. It doesn’t chop as finely as I’d like, but for quick prep jobs, it gets the job done. Overall, a solid little helper

Love this chopper.
I love this KitchenAid 5 cup chopper. I have pureed garlic, chopped garlic, ginger, celery, cotton and onions and it has worked perfectly. Holds a lot more than it looks. Don’t be put off by those reviews that say it is hard or complicated to remove or put on the bowl or lid. If you read the directions and practice a couple of times it is very easy. I love that the pulse button is on the handle.

My Favorite Kitchen Appliance
I have had this device for over 2 years now, and I use it much more frequently (every other day) than my full size food processor (Cusinart). Great for quick jobs (such as chopping nuts, dicing an onion, making the pork filling for dumplings, making salsa, etc). Incredibly easy to clean (bowl, lid, and blade go into dishwasher) and the rechargeable battery has kept its charge for an incredible length of time (and tasks). I love the fact that it does not need to be plugged into an electrical outlet to work that I can move and use it almost everywhere (picnics, tailgate parties)

Poor design, hard to clean, sticks when pulsing the unit.
For the record I am reviewing: KitchenAid 5 Cup Food Chopper – KFC0516, Onyx BlackIt is rare that I have to write a bad review. But this food processor deserves it. I have the smaller model of this food processor KitchenAid 3.5 Cup Food Chopper – KFC3516, Aqua Sky and I love it. I bought this one because mine is getting old and I was desiring the larger size as some times when making things like sauces or salsa, the one I have is just a tiny bit too small. So, I was looking forward to getting this one.However…. First the thing is much more difficult to clean. You have more parts and more surface area to clean and it takes twice the time of the 3.5 cup one. Food gets between the parts and into the center post. Then it just does not have the mechanics of working like it should. I made pot stickers and needed to chop shrimp into a chunky paste it was difficult for the unit to pull all the shrimp to the bottom of the processor and cut it up evenly. The smaller unit does it perfectly. I wound up with whole shrimp at the top and mush at the bottom. It just was too large and the blades were way at the bottom. Poor design, maybe the angle of the blades is not set properly as to pull and mix the food. Then on top of that and more frustrating was that when you push down on the lid handle to activate the unit it does NOT shut off immediately when you release pressure. Sometimes it runs for an additional second or two, other times it just does not stop running. If you just want to pulse it, like I do all the time, that is not going to happen. It runs and does not stop when you want it to. If I had to render a guess I would say that the activation switch is sticking not sure if it is because of the length of the unit, the position of the chopping container which does not clip into place and lock in as well as the smaller one.I am very unhappy with the design of this one, and the removable blades just means more surface area to clean and it is not that easy to clean.I am going to return this unit. I am very unhappy with it. This is one of those times when I think the design engineers who made it never actually used it or gave it to people that actually cook and have to clean it to test it. I am sad because usually this brand is a good product, but not this time. Sorry folks but…I DO NOT RECOMMEND GETTING ONE OF THESE.
