GREAT DEAL FOR BUYERS WITH BUDGET!!!!
Great deal for $14!!! I bought this item to bring my 4 month old kitten back and forth to the vet. I did purchase the bigger size to make sure my older cats can be comfy in it if need be.Pros: It’s cheap! It’s the cheapest carrier I was able to find. The size is great. It’s not huge but it will definitely work for all 3 of my cats, one of which is quite chunky. It was super easy to put together. The door can open from the left or from the right. The handle to carry it is actually carved right out of the top half of the carrier, rather than attached separately. I really appreciate this feature because my last (and expensive) carrier had the handle snap off when moving my chunky cat into my house. The door and top stay securely closed and my cat would not be able to find a way out.Come: The only thing that I would consider a “con” is that the carrier comes with “strap hooks” that you attach to the carrier yourself. These hooks are very flimsy plastic and I would not trust the weight of the carrier on them. I personally wouldn’t use them anyway so it doesn’t really bother me. But if you’re purchasing this item with intent to use these, don’t. The entire cage is held together with plastic. The entire top half Is secured onto the bottom half with plastic clasps. I don’t see it being a problem for the cats I own, but if you have a very fat kitty or small dog, I would be cautious.Overall I am pleased with my purchase and honestly see this as a steal.

Sturdy carrier for an excellent price.
I have many cats. I have one carrier for each cat (in case of emergency or travel) and they are all this carrier. Highly recommend this product. I’ve had several of them for years and they are all still in great shape. They’re easy to assemble and disassemble so that you can store them without them taking up so much space. The material they made of is easy to clean and they are more than roomy enough for my largest 15 pound cat.

Great but some precautions
UPDATE #2: For the very first trip in the car, I attached a shoulder strap to the gray plastic shoulder strap loops. These loops are NOT SAFE to use. As soon as I put the strap over my shoulder one of the plastic loops popped out of its seating and flew across the room. Fortunately I had my hand on the handle so my 13 lb. cat didn’t fall to the ground but these loops are completely unsafe. Since I still want to be able to use a shoulder strap, I removed the plastic loops and attached paracord with a double fisherman’s knot to serve as the shoulder strap attachment (photo attached). Overall this is still a good carrier (and the lightest hard sided carrier available), but there are some precautions that need to be taken until the manufacturer makes improvements.UPDATE #1: While attaching the metal gate, a sharp edge stabbed my hand and drew blood. There was a dot of welding material at the edge of the vertical bar so sharp it could be a hypodermic needle (photo attached). I checked the rest of gate and found a couple of other sharp edges too. I’d say there are some quality control problems. I contacted the manufacturer who was very helpful and after sending them photos of the problem they quickly sent me a replacement gate which has no sharp edges.——-I’ve searched EVERYWHERE for a well made hard sided carrier that weighs less than 5lbs. My cat is heavy enough to carry all by himself and I don’t want a carrier that will add 8lbs or more to him. It seemed an impossible task and I’ve bought and returned so many carriers. I had kept my eye on the Spree because it’s so lightweight but was worried about some of the negative reviews and also the lack of real detail about how it fits together. A carrier that just snaps together without screws or even clamps seemed risky. Even the manufacturer’s website doesn’t give much detail on how the top and bottom stay together.I’m very happy I bought this! Assembly was super easy even without good instructions (it comes with very basic instructions on the label but check out the manufacturer’s website for a video) and all the parts appear very well made. It turns out the top and bottom attach with hooks and the front knob pieces hold the hooks in a locked position. The levers that hold the gate in place have a groove they snap into to stay secure, and even the loops for attaching a shoulder strap (not included) look much stronger than they seem in photos. All around it looks very sturdy. I’ll update my review after a few trips in the car.

Not terrible. Not the best.
The plastic used to make this could definitely be thicker. While it isn’t entirey flimsy, some flexing occurs, which has me concerned how well this is going to hold together, since where the top connects to the bottom in the back there is only two little slots on the bottom where two little tabs on the top are inserted. The front of the carrier involves two dial like knobs that are infinitely more robust, but if you have a good sized cat or dog in the carrier that is moving around much, I’m worried about the plastic flexing and those little tabs in the back coming out of the slots, OR, breaking off entirely. Definitely wouldn’t put anything in it that weighs more than 10 lbs. Wasn’t expensive, but then, the old adage of “you get what you pay for” definitely comes into play here. Most definitely isn’t something you could put an animal in for air transport. I like the functionality of the door, with the option of being able to remove the whole thing if wanted, or just undoing the holding tabs on one side so you can swing the door open, but the tabs themselves are not all equal in their sturdiness. 3 of the 4 don’t move easily and stay put where they should, but the 4th does move into the open position with little effort, so the concern of it being accidentally bumped into the open position just by picking up and setting down the carrier on different surfaces (carpet, grass, , car seat, hard surfaces) is there. It’s something that close attention will have to be paid to when transporting your pet, otherwise, you could find yourself chasing him or her down the street.

I can’t comment what these are like for cats, I use for rats when I need to transport a lot of them at once. It does work well for this purpose although found it a bit annoying to put together and close the door. It’s not bad though and cheaper than many alternatives

I ordered one of these to replace a 20 year old carrier (that was much heavier and not as good of a gate system).2 days later I ordered another of these.So simple to put together, the kittens love playing in it, very light but solidly built.Just not sure why the top is open under the handle when it arrived, but it seems like it should be closed, so I closed it.Also, it comes with 2 strap hooks.I can’t imagine running a strap through the hooks and carrying like that, when it has a perfectly fine built in handle…
