The perfect cat litter mat. Look no further, folks.
So, litter mats are one of those things that have been a thorn in my side for years. Everybody has that one thing that you just can’t find what you’re looking for so you cycle through far more of it than you reasonably should. I’ve had those mats that open on the end to shake out litter. Mats made of plastic, mats with some weird plastic-like fiber texture. They all sucked. Litter still tracked everywhere and the only thing they were good at catching were smears of kitty poo that were difficult/impossible to clean.Enter this mat. Great size. It’s superb quality, with just the right amount of suppleness and perfectly designed grooves that actually do catch the majority of litter as my fur assassins finish their business and back flip out of their litter boxes like the murderous ninjas they are. This is a mat worth the price of admission.

Good product
This mat is a good size and it’s easy to clean. I previously had a large foam mat with holes in it, but cleaning it was kind of a pain. This doesn’t trap all litter, but it works just as well as the thicker foam mats with holes in it. I have also tried the ones with textured fibers and still prefer this one because it’s by far the easiest to clean and I think does just as good of a job.

It does what the product description says it does.
It’s large. It protects the carpet and my cats don’t mind walking on it. It does reduce the amount of litter getting into the rug. Nothing fancy but it works. It’s easy to sweep the litter up, vs trying to get it out of carpet fibers.

I have had cats for 10+ years. This litter mat works the best. It catches the litter and if an accident happens on it, it is easy to clean up. Also found it is very easy to clean unlike other mesh mats , etc.

It works well, but has a few issues
I mean, this is just a mat, so it’s not exactly complex, right? It lays on the floor and protects it from thrown litter, or any mishaps from the litter box. In that regard it does do its job, but there are a few reasons why it doesn’t do its job quite as well as one would like.The first issue is the depth. There simply isn’t that much depth at all and, as a result, it is easy for what the mat is supposed to be containing to still find its way out on the floor. As long as you keep it cleaned regularly this shouldn’t be a huge problem, but that’s where we run in to the second issue.The second problem is that because of how floppy the material is it is hard to lift up without spilling the contents out. I still haven’t found a good way to lift it without a high risk of some of the mats contents spilling out on to the very floor the mat is there to keep stuff off of. In my case I have a cat that loves to miss the litter box so the fact there is liquids involved likely makes it worse.Then there’s the problem with the material. Silicone is great in that not much sticks well to it and that makes the mat very easy to clean back up. What they neglect to mention about silicone though, is that it also unfortunately loves to hold odors and act as an odor source long after the original material has been cleaned up. This is a bit of a problem when using the mat for litter boxes as the silicone mat quickly becomes a source of litter box odors and it is very difficult to get that smell out of the silicone. It’s unfortunate when you completely clean out your litter box and fill it fresh but the room still smells like cat urine because the litter mat itself has trapped the odor and only an immersive lengthy soak in vinegar has much of a chance of getting that smell out.All in all the mat does its job, but it could do it better. If your cats are well behaved and only toss out some litter then it will do great. If your cats tend to be messy with their litter boxes though then you might want to try a better option.
