Easy to use and no more batteries to replace.
Great device for gas, carbon monoxide and smoke detection alarm. Easy to use. When first plugged in, the detector starts beeping and you think that something is wrong or it’s not working. It’s just going through a test and will stop beeping after a minute or so. Everything works well and we’re happy with a plugged in detector instead of having to deal with battery operated units that beep when the battery is low and the need to change out the battery.

Bright screen, OK features, poor backup battery
It is very easy to install, you just plug it into the wall. It has a nice bright, easy to read screen. The screen can be adjusted if you plug it in at a different angle somewhere, which is a nice feature. It does not remember this setting if you unplug it. It does have a battery, but the battery does not last very long it seems. The alarm is very loud and should alert someone with normal hearing to an issue. I am unable to say how accurate it is. I did test it by accident when I was cleaning something in the kitchen with rubbing alcohol and it triggered the alarm. It seems to function well enough and is a good secondary safety measure to have in my house.

I picked up a similar one of these earlier this year for use while camping, and my wife liked it so much she wanted me to get another so we could keep one in the basement near-ish the furnace, and the other in the kitchen on the wall near our outside deck where we keep our grill. The idea being that between the two of them, we should be able to get some early warning if there’s a gas leak of either the natural gas that our stove/furnace uses, or if the grill was left on (non-burning) and we had any intrusion of the propane into the house. That latter scenario is pretty unlikely, but if it lets my wife sleep better at night I’m all for it, and this just gives us an extra one to take camping with us as well.Functionally, they are pretty similar. I do like the simplicity of this one and I’m a big fan of the fact that you can invert the screen so that you can position it on the top or bottom outlet as needed.When our gas oven is preheating it is not always the most efficient unit as it outpaces the burners and so there is often a brief smell of natural gas during the very initial start of using the oven. This presented a perfect opportunity to test out the natural gas detection of this unit, and it sounded the alarm and started blinking with the yellow light as soon as the PPM exceeded 50. It hit over 100 very briefly, and then dropped just as quickly once the oven burners all lit and caught up with the gas flow. The alarm is sufficiently loud that I would definitely hear it even if I was on a different floor. I appreciate that as long as the PPM is below 100, the alarm can be silenced even while the screen continues to flash.My only gripe with this unit WOULD HAVE BEEN the price as it was listed for $59.99 when I ordered it, and that’s a lot considering that there are numerous similar offerings for half that on Amazon. But as I went to write this review, I see that it’s being offered for $39.99 PLUS there is a $10-off coupon, so it is now HALF what it was listed for before, and much more competitively priced.If you like the look and/or need the ability to flip the display so you can use it on an upper outlet, this detector has a nice, simple display that can be dimmed or turned off (as long as it is not alarming), and seems to work well.

Nice device. Easy to setup. Alarm so far worked once. Seems legit.
Easy setup and seems to work great! Installation was super simple – just plug it in and you’re done. The temperature reading looks accurate compared to my thermostat. I’ve been running it in test mode without issues, and haven’t gotten any alarms except once while cooking (might have been a false alarm??… not sure, but it was beeping loud until I reset it). Five stars. Looks like it does what it’s supposed to do. Reasonable price. I can’t comment on reliability of it – again, it did scream loudly once and it coincided with me actually cooking on all 4 stoves.

Sensitive But Assuring To Have
What a handy, informative gadget!It shows the carbon monoxide level, and detects combustible gas and smoke. The LED display also shows temperatures and humidity. The portability of this detector allows me to take it to any property I, or a tenant, might think has a problem.It is a little sensitive. The combustible gas detector went off in my home while the carbon monoxide level has always read zero. I assume it is from the little bit of time from when I turn the knob on our natural gas fireplace place until the flame actual comes out. That is how AI explained it to me anyway.I appreciate this little portable detector. It gives me some assurance. I would recommend it.
