Just What I Was Looking For
I bought the blue one. Sturdy and flexible. Easy to clean. Fits in my medium Basis stainless steel dog bowl adequately. There is some play in his bowl, so if I push down the suction cups on the bottom stick more and it will tighten the gaps between the ridges so he has to work a little harder. Sometimes that happens by him pushing down to get the food. I do release it so he can fully get everything. This is due to the fit in his bowl. I have also found it sticking to my baseboard heat if he manages to get it out so he can lick the bottom…lol. It can be chewed if your dog is a chewer, so I suggest keeping an eye. My dog practically inhales his food and needed slowing down. I think he likes trying to get every last bite from the little valleys. I feed rehydrated food that is wet and then rinse/soak in hot soapy water for easy clean up. I would recommend.

Awoo hits the mark again
I already had a type of slow feeder/ lick mat from Awoo for my little pug, so when I saw this one I thought I’d give it a try.I don’t normally feed my pug with her other Awoo product because it is kind of like a flat dish with curved sides and suction cups on the bottom, and it just doesn’t slow her down for meal time enough. I usually use that one for lick mat purposes where I don’t want her to push it off the edge and get it all over everything else in the room, so I’ll put Greek yogurt and sun butter in it and freeze it, etc. This product, however, it is actually a slow feeder for her. The deep nooks and crannies get her kibble in deep enough to force her to slow down and actually work a little bit for the food. Normally she gets fed in a flat face friendly stainless steel bowl and I have to add water to keep her from absolutely vacuuming her meals. I did add a little bit of sun butter to this as an added treat with her meal, and she did have to put an effort to get that.I like that the design of this makes it so that it’s not easy for her to get through it quickly, but also doesn’t frustrate her. Now, we don’t have tile in my house at the moment (remodeling…it’s a long story…), but if we did, I would definitely be making use of it for the suction cups on the bottom of this dish. They do not work on our current imitation wood floors, so when she got right down to the last bits of food and sun butter, she was able to pick up the dish and walk away with it. This was fine because she couldn’t make a mess with it with the way that I put the meal together and the way this mat is designed. This slow feeder caused her to have to slow down, and yet was entertaining. It took her 2 to 3 times the amount of time it normally takes her to get through her meal and she was still happy after.Clean up wasn’t a big deal. Although the crevices in this slow feeder are a bit deeper (I don’t think I will put sun butter in the deeper recesses every time and will probably more often keep it around the elbow macaroni shapes just for ease of cleaning) it’s not difficult to get clean. However, if you’re having a hard time with cleanup, throwing it in the dishwasher on the top rack is an option. Being silicone, it is dishwasher safe on the top rack.Overall, I’m really really pleased with this slow feeder. Awoo makes quality products that have hit the mark every time I’ve tried them. This slow feeder is no different; with how much it slows my pug down but keeps her happy and entertained, along with how easy it is to clean, it is definitely going to become a part of her feeding routine.

There’s a trade-off for my own efforts when compared with using his old slow feeder.
Our Labradoodle has figured out his current slow feeder bowl so well that he’s done eating his allotment in just under 1 minute (photo). It was time to look for something like this Awoo Snackaroni – Silicone Slow Feeder for Dog Bowls Over 5.5in., Lavender. His bowl’s bottom diameter measures about 6in., with a slightly curved edge. The Snackaroni fits perfectly, but the limited arrangement of small suction cups on its bottom will only adhere tightly if they are slightly wet when pressed into the bowl. Otherwise, my doodle can pull up the taller shapes with his teeth. I’m glad there’s a round tab on the edge of the silicone that I can grab and yank free to wash it.BTW, I take plenty of photos to show what I write about to form my honest opinion about a product I review. Unfortunately, they don’t always upload in sequential order. If I decide to give our doodle some extra goodies, like bits of apple and bell pepper, I have to take the time to strategically press them in the silicone crevices. In fact, it takes me twice as long, about 3 minutes, to arrange his kibbles mixed with some canned food or pumpkin puree, compared with just loading around the rings of his old slow feeder. I slide single kibbles around the whole edge of the Awoo silicone since there’s a lip each kibble can settle into.I’ve timed our doodle 5X. He finishes actually eating his food within 2-3 minutes. However, what amazes and floors me is that he racks-up his time at the bowl; he continues to lick it all around for an extra 10-15 minutes, while intermittently stopping to return licking anywhere from 4 and up to 8 more times! Like with lick mats, there must be something tactilely satisfying about licking this Awoo silicone feeder because he is so engaged with it. He looks relaxed when he’s done.I don’t run the dishwasher every day because we don’t go through that many dishes, so I will let the bowl and Awoo soak in soapy, hot water for a little while before I handwash them. Otherwise, it is top dishwasher safe, unlike his old slow feeder.Overall, I am impressed with this Awoo that definitely occupies our doodle whenever I feed him. He spends a ton more time at his bowl than when he used to eat out of his old feeder. The trade-off is that I just have to accept the fact I, myself, have to also spend more time placing his food(s) in it.
