Excellent Product for Rescued Cats
Good product which I order for one of my rescued cats that suffers from high anxiety. Challenging to get her to eat. Purchase this very often. Also, just to mention. On of the trays of 10 jars had two empties & the contents were very watery. Checked the expiration date & found it to be January 2027. Served the contents to 2 of my cats. Thankfully there was no ill affect…thankfully! I will continue to purchase this product because it is hopeful that it is providing good nutrition for the kitties.

Simple ingredients. Cats love. Mix with wet food to entice eating supplements.
This is the only place that I can find the basic meat puree level one baby food. I feed this mixed in with my cat’s wet food, as she is getting old, and I have to give her powder supplements. It entices her to eat it. In addition, she is a chronic vomiter. My vet has said to try boiled chicken and rice, when there are GI issues, but I’m a vegetarian and will not be cooking that. This was another option given. As long as there is no garlic or onion, and this is not all you feed your cat every day, this type of baby food is ok to feed. Always check w/ your vet. It smells horrible, but cats love it. I had a diabetic cat several years ago that I used to feed meat puree baby food to for similar reasons and you could easily find chicken, ham, and turkey puree in the store. I would prefer to not give this cat chicken, since the vet thinks she might have a chicken sensitivity. However, I can’t find turkey or ham at the store, or online. Baby food added to wet food, or as a supplement on occasion, is a great way to get your cat to take opened capsules, powdered/gel supplements, to entice eating, or settle the stomach for a little while. Ingredients are simple and the food can be stored in the fridge for up to 48 hrs after opening.

GREAT Baby Food. WARNING – IMPROPER Packing may not withstand USPS Handling.
This will be the 7th time I’ve ordered this. ALTHOUGH Beech-nut is the best food available, the packing might not be able to withstand USPS handling. My MISTAKE in my last order was that I ordered 2 packs of Beech-nut and a bottle of fish oil soft gels. Amazon packed everything in one large box. During shipping, 3 jars of baby food cracked open, getting chicken sludge all over everything. In the future, I will order jars of baby food and wait until it ships before ordering anything else, to avoid improper packing. I RECOMMEND that you do the same. Great baby food.

Food poisoning risk. Watery, grainy, but less fat than Gerber
Update, bought in Nov 2025— tried again after a few months bc needed for basic nutrition, elderly adult with chewing-swallowing problems. Before they were packed in plastic wrapper, there was a big spill on the line, and most lids were coated with a thin layer of dried chicken, and not cleaned before packing. So old, dried, and hard, it was hard to wash off, and we ended up throwing out. Plus, the chicken was a weird mix of watery and rough, so it had a watery flavor and was very hard for elderly adult with dysphagia to swallow. Can’t imagine risking babies’ health with germy, spoiled jar lids, or trying to teach them to love textures with this stuff. Dropped from two to one star. Have to go back to Gerber.Original review— Bought in Aug 2025, expiration more than six months out — hoped to love this for adult with chewing-swallowing problems. They said it was watery and grainy, no cornstarch thickener like Gerber, and lower fat than, but same protein and price as Gerber. We like having choices about the amount of fat (some is healthy), but the graininess doesn’t help the chewing-swallowing problems. Watery flavor might have been something to adjust to, but prob not worth it.

GREAT for puppies too!!!
I started using the Beech-Nut Chicken & Chicken Broth baby food jars for my puppy, and they’ve worked wonderfully as a simple, mild food topper. I like that the ingredients list is very clean—just chicken and broth—without added salt, seasonings, or fillers. The smooth texture makes it super easy to mix into kibble or serve on its own when my puppy needs something gentler on the stomach. The jars are the perfect size, and the consistency is very easy for young dogs to eat. My puppy loves the flavor and always finishes the bowl when I add this. It’s also convenient to have on hand because it stores well and is easy to portion. While I still use regular puppy food for nutrition, this is a great supplement for taste and occasional gentle meals.

My dog LOVES it
Started feeding this to my 18 year old dog when she stopped eating her “dog” food & this has been a game changer. She loves it; it’s limited ingredient so honestly I’m sure it’s better for her than dry dog food. If I had a child I would feed them this b/c of the 3 ingredients!

Perfect for sick cats
I have this one hand for my cats when they get sick (IBD and Pancreatitis). I shake the jar prior to opening to make sure the broth is mixed with the meat. I also warm it up a bit in a bowl of hot water and shake before putting it on a plate for them. Definitely a pantry staple if you have cats that get sick out of the blue.
