    Excellent machine.
I finally had to replace my 25 + yo Cuisinart food processor due to the bowl wearing out. A replacement bowl was not available. The new one does not disappoint! Works great. Super strong motor.

It’s a complicated machine — read the manual very carefully and practice before using it for real
I just got this processor to replace an old Cuisinart, so I haven’t used it a lot. It is quite a bit more complicated than that one, but has many more uses. What I would stress for anyone considering buying is: read the instructions very carefully several times (I didn’t look at the videos) and practice a while before using it to do real cooking. Many of the negative reviews here seem to have been written by people who don’t have the patience one needs to operate this sort of machine. The parts do take some experimenting before you understand how to put them together and take them apart, but once you finish assembling them it works beautifully. One thing I will not use it for is mixing and kneading bread dough; I’m doubtful that it would do a better job at that than doing this by hand. I’ve done that by hand (as people have done for centuries) for years, and it’s good exercise for your hands and arms!To sum it up: take plenty of time to learn how to use this thing (especially if you have never used a food processor before), handle it carefully, and learn how to cook and bake the old-fashioned way so you don’t have to rely on the processor to do everything for you.

Do you need the 11 cup or the 14 cup?
I resisted buying a food processor for years. Now that I have one, I am sorry I did wait so long. This is the greatest thing in cutting down prep time and making time consuming chopping/mincing/mixing tasks into seconds. The only drawback is how loud it is. I keep earplugs in the drawer so I can quickly pop them in for my longer use techniques.I debated over the 11 cup and 14 cup. With the dry and liquid bowl limits (written/noted in the bowl), I sometimes wish I had bought the 14 cup so I could easily do double batches of trail mix, etc. (I did try a double batch but could see why the limits are stated as they are – things don’t mix as well and you have to mix it manually after processing as a result.)It is powerful and I am happy with it’s performance.

    First impressions are very good!
Just received my Cuisinart DLC-8SBCYP1 food processor. I haven’t had a chance to run it through its paces yet, will be doing so shortly. This review is based on first impressions after unboxing. First off, this is built like a tank. I was concerned, based on other reviews, that the bowl was going to be thin and fragile. Well, it’s not. I have a Cuisinart Little Pro Plus (3-cup) that is at least 30 years old and going strong. The bowl wall on that measures about 2.4mm. The bowl wall on this new one is 2.9mm, likely closer to 3mm. So it is thicker and VERY solid. The blade discs are all very heavy and you can feel the balance from the weights.I was under the impression this was going to be a brushed aluminum casing, but it is just plastic with a brushed aluminum look to it. Not bad, it looks nice.Something else, Amazon shows this model is 220V. It is in fact 120V/60Hz. I wasn’t sure what to think, but based on research, it seemed that Amazon had their facts incorrect in the description. So I took a slight chance ordering it, but my hunch/research proved correct. The paddle switches seem just a tiny, tiny bit janky, but I think they will hold up fine as long as you don’t consistently reef on them.

    Beware of Cuisinart!
Having just purchased this food processor, I expected the best from Cuisinart! (silly me!). The flat lid arrived with a sticker glued onto it which wouldn’t come off. I used a razor blade scraper, and after much effort I was able to remove the paper part of the sticker, but not the glue. After trying to remove it for 10 min. I finally decided to call the company. They obviously don’t want to talk to customers because the customer care phone number is hidden in the product manual after the recipes. When I called them, the rep. had no idea how to solve the problem, but I was told later to rub the glue with a cloth and vegetable oil. Is that standard advice? I know it’s a “little” thing, but Really!! All of the other stickers and notices were put on in a way that came right off. Why the difference with only one? And why the DIY answer to solve the problem? I expect a new product to be user-ready right out of the box. I guess I was wrong! This is the last Cuisinart product I will buy, not because the product doesn’t work, but because they show no interest in providing a hassle-free product nor vigorous customer care. What if I had a serious problem? ………….

Bought this because it has a flat cover and easier to wash
I bought this model because it has a flat cover which is what I would use most of the time and easy to wash. Other models don’t seem to have the flat covers that I know of. This machine runs smoothly and quietly.

I had another Cuisinart food processor for many years and had I been able to get the part I broke, I would still be using it. The Cuisinart brand has always been reliable.
