False claims and JUNK!! Stick with proven brands!
According to description it’s supposed to be able to determine cooking vs fire. This is a 100% false. Anytime we’re cooking and there’s fumes, not even smoke yet, they go off. Every time we use our air fryer they go off. We had Kidde detectors previously and what attracted me to SITERLINK detectors was their claim to not going off during cooking. Our Kidde detectors only went off when we accidentally burn something where these go off anytime we’re cooking and fumes are present, such as air fryer or high heat stovetop cooking.We purchased the SITERLINK detectors in March 2025 and in the first week of June 2025 the one mounted in our bedroom went off alarming for fire waking us up in the middle of the night. Totally freaking us out!!!. Since they are linked I had to ring to every room looking for the fire while my wife was freaking out. I realized there was no smoke/fire and it was the one in our bedroom since it had the red illuminated ring while the other detectors had green illuminated rings. Our bedroom has a high vaulted ceiling so I had to get a broom to push the silence button. It was around midnight and after that it went off every hour or two. In the morning, I had to replace that detector. I took the faulty detector and put it outside and it kept going off every hour or two.

product is an easy install till you get to mounting the plate most plates give you a bigger opening to slide the head screw through then slide into place and tighten not these so a little difficult

If you have to change your wire connections worth considering instead of Kidde.
When I found Kidde changed their fittings and a rewire was needed anyway to replace after 10 years I looked around and bought these instead (x9) No issues so far. The base plate screws to existing ceiling fittings. I like the green low level ‘working’ lights.
