Yes! Get them
Easy to install. These are sensitive, and will detect the slightest danger of smoke. I am impressed with the quality, and how well it works! 10 year sealed battery, and it’s durable.

Long Lasting
It really last 10 years. We bought one Xmas 2015 and it just gave the signal that the product had expired a week ago.

3 of my 3 units were defective.
I’m disappointed in this model of smoke detector. My brother is a firefighter and insisted I get a smoke detector for every floor of my home, and said that if I bought one with a sealed battery I would be able to set it and forget it for about 10 years. I begrudgingly spent money that had been gifted to me on these for safety rather than something fun, and I at least felt secure. Until the upstairs unit started firing off at nighttime. This must have happened 5 or 6 times, jolting me from sleep in a panic, before I disabled the unit. My brother said I should use canned air to spray through it in case something was setting it off but that didn’t help. Now, less than a year after the purchase of these 3 units, I’ve got my basement one giving a low battery chirp every 30 seconds or so. This was supposed to last for *years*. So far the only one that hasn’t shown some sign of being defective is on the ground floor, so I didn’t bottom out all my star ratings but 2 out of 3 is a pretty horrible rate of defects.Update 10 June 2020: I was just woken at 6:15am to the upstairs alarm misfiring just like the first faulty one did. It looks like I’ll have to replace this one too. The good news is these units are loud as hell. The bad news is whatever they don’t like about my home seems to be a common issue and not a simple bug with only one of the three I originally bought. It’s really disconcerting to wake up and rush through your house looking for the source of a fire you expect to end life as you know it only to realize it’s just another defective smoke detector. Dropping my review to one star. 3 out of 3 units malfunctioning is a real drag, especially given that the product description brags of how its unique design cuts down on false alarms. I’ve filled the house with smoke cooking and the device never made a peep, but we get all 85 decibels at random while trying to sleep.

Works Well, But a Bit Too Sensitive
This alarm definitely does its job — maybe a little too well! It’s very sensitive, going off even with a small amount of smoke from regular kitchen cooking. On the plus side, the 10-year sealed battery and slim design are great features, and it’s easy to install. If you’re placing it near a kitchen, just be prepared for a few extra alarms. Otherwise, it’s a reliable and high-quality smoke detector for home safety.

Alarm malfunctioned after a year, First Alert is sending replacements
I’ve had these smoke detectors in my home for about a year now, and two of them started to malfunction. They started alarming (NOT chirping), in the middle of the night. One of them alarmed a few times and stopped after I took it down. The other alarmed every couple of hours until I took it down. The following night, it started to alarm again, but it was constant. I tried to silence, reset, and clean the detector, nothing would turn it off so I eventually deactivated it before I went insane.I called First Alert’s product support to let them know what was happening, and they are sending new units to my house. I am incredibly satisfied with their customer service, but wish I didn’t have to deal with the malfunctioning alarms in the first place.

Smoke alarm
Good product, good service.I think I got a rogue faulty detector as it started beeping later that day with no smoke present.

Well made and sturdy. Like the instructions on outer cover for use. Tested and works. Would recommend. Best one for a senior; don’t have to be changing batteries all the time.

It was easy to install and activate. Shipping was fast as well.

Item arrived in shrink-wrap instead of the factory clamshell, I contacted the MFG who advised that these are not sold in shrink-wrap, even when purchased in bulk. I would not trust my safety or life with something like this. Be cautious.

The support ring is of different size than my old detector with 9v battery. Had to make a new hole for attaching. Very simple.

Very happy with 10 year product.
